THE ITINERARY
Day 1(Jan 25): Arrival in Ouagadougou
Welcome to Burkina Faso! Upon arrival at Ouagadougou International Airport, you’ll be greeted and transferred to your hotel. Settle in, enjoy a brief orientation, and prepare for the adventure ahead. Overnight stay in Ouagadougou.
Day 2 (Jan 26): Ouagadougou to Tiébélé – The Artistry of the Kassena People
Today, we embark on a scenic 3-hour drive to Tiébélé, a village famed for its unique earthen architecture and the vibrant murals created by the women of the Kassena community. Here, we’ll step into the Royal Court of Tiébélé, a UNESCO World Heritage site that stands as a testament to the artistic prowess of the Kassena people. Marvel at the intricate geometric patterns, each telling a story of tradition, protection, and identity.
Experience:
- Local Pottery Workshop: Engage with local artisans as they share the secrets of Kassena pottery, passed down through generations. Craft your own piece as a keepsake, learning the delicate process of molding, firing, and decorating the clay.
- Traditional Gold Panning: Witness the age-old practice of gold panning, an integral part of the local economy. Discover how these techniques have been sustained over centuries, connecting the past to the present.

Day 3 (Jan 27): Journey to Bobo Dioulasso – Exploring Burkina’s Musical Heartbeat
An early departure takes us on a long yet picturesque drive to Bobo Dioulasso, often called the city of Sya. Known for its rhythmic culture and traditional music, this city is a melting pot of the Bobo and Dioula ethnic groups. We’ll explore the charming Kibidoué quarter, where the past echoes through its narrow alleys, and visit the iconic Dioulasso-Bâ Mosque, a stunning example of Sudanese architecture from the 1800s, with its clay-built minarets and wooden beams.

- Mask Dance Performance: In the evening, immerse yourself in the pulsating beats of traditional drums as you witness a mesmerizing mask dance, a sacred ceremony that brings to life the spirits of ancestors through vivid costumes, rhythmic movements, and captivating music. Day 4 (Jan 28): Banfora – A Day of Nature and Serenity
Today is dedicated to exploring Banfora, a lush region known as the “Granary of Burkina Faso.” We will meet the Senoufo people, whose culture spans across Burkina Faso, Mali, and Côte d’Ivoire, and learn about their customs and way of life.
Highlights:
- Sindou Peaks and Fabedougou Domes: Climb the sandstone peaks of Sindou for breathtaking panoramic views, and explore the surreal, mushroom-shaped domes of Fabedougou. These geological wonders are a natural playground for the curious traveler.
- Karfiguéla Waterfalls: Cool off at the cascading Karfiguéla waterfalls, surrounded by lush greenery. Take a dip, enjoy a picnic, and soak in the serene ambiance before we drive back to Bobo Dioulasso for the night.
Day 5 (Jan 29): Return to Ouagadougou via Bazoulé – The Sacred Crocodile Ponds
As we journey back to Ouagadougou, we’ll stop at Bazoulé, a village known for its sacred crocodile ponds. Here, crocodiles and villagers live in harmony, a testament to a unique cultural bond that dates back centuries. Hear fascinating tales of how these reptiles are revered and respected, and, if you’re daring enough, you can even get close to these majestic creatures for a photo!
Experience:
- Cultural Exchange: Engage with locals, learn about their symbiotic relationship with the crocodiles, and understand the spiritual significance of this rare connection. Overnight stay in Ouagadougou.
Day 6 (Jan 30): Departure
